Welcome to Aidens Angels. Our journey with our son and his Congenital Heart Defects started in May of 2009. At 20 weeks at our ultrasound appointment we heard the dreaded words “There is something wrong with your sons heart.”

From the moment of hearing those words, Aidens daddy, Levi, started digging through pages of information on the internet and became one of the only dads on BabyCenters Children with Heart Problems. The support he got was inspirational and much needed through our journey.

Aiden was born October 8th 2009 at 6:29 PM weighing 6 pounds 9 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. After getting to hold him for a short moment our little guy was whisked off to Childrens of Denver for his brief, but truly amazing 15 days.

Aiden was born with Unbalanced AVSD, Pulmonary Atresia, mitral valve regurgitation, SVT, and Situs Inversus. We knew we had a long journey ahead of us with our amazing little guy but we were in it to win it. On October 23rd Aiden went to have his first and only open heart surgery. Everyone was very optomistic, but 5 hours after surgery Aiden went into cardiac arrest and couldn’t be resuscitated. At 8:09 PM that night Aiden went to rest on the lap of Our Lord.

After months of just laying in the back and not doing much to continue our sons legacy, Aidens Angels came to me one night just sitting and thinking of him.
